The hat is fairly bare bones, as there is no lining. Im a stickler for finishing, but I didn't line it. The vents in the back were a bit of a challenge because of the slight grading I did but they turned out pretty swell.
The pattern suggests a roll of batting stuffed inside the hat to curve out the brim, which I did. It helped a lot in giving the beret it's shape.
