I made a pledge when I went out fabric shopping this past weekend, SOLIDS SOLIDS SOLIDS!!!!! I have way too many plaids, and flower printed dresses and clothes, I needed to make some solid staples in my wardrobe, so I only bought solid colored fabrics. Among them was this wonderful cotton seersucker!

 

I used the Simplicity pattern again, but I didnt add the front pleats in the bodice. I felt the texture of the fabric was enough. also gathered the shoulder gathers more, and added piping! Yay! The piping is a lovely striped sheer cream that I just adore.

All in all I think it turned out rather nice. I used pearl buttons on the dress because I have so many of them! I did a closure on the sleeves (not part of the pattern) and trimmed it in the cream cotton.
