This is another garment made from that lovely Simplicity pattern that I cant seem to get enough of! I tell you, I need a new staple.

What I did on this one was pay more attention to the craftsmanship of the garment, and I applied lot more of the original details, but making it a bit larger to wear as a jacket.

The plaid from the yolk, sleeves, and pockets were repurposed from a skirt that I cut from a 50s pattern that I rarely wore anymore.

With the plaid on the sleeves, I tried to mimic the point of the yolk in the back. But the real reason I added the plaid on the sleeves was that I ran out of the navy twill. So much so, that I added the red band on the cuffs more to lengthen the sleeves than for a sleeve lining (half way up the arm because the plaid is a much thiner fabric.
