Snippers

These little metal, spring hinged thread snippers are the best thing I have ever bought. My mother had a pair, all metal, shiny and pristine. I don't have her pair (they were not vintage anyway) but when I did decided to get my own pair, I wanted an all metal pair so I could have them sharpened. These have a great vintage look to them, so I nabbed them on eBay.

Clark's & Coats Sew & Save ©1944

A pretty standard book on sewing techniques. It has some really good pocket treatment techniques in it, and a great diagram on needles and which one to use for which job.

Pattern Alteration from the USDA ©1945

I love government issued living books, they are rare, but so neat, that the gov. put out literature to aide people in basic practices. I find that slightly creepy, but at the same time helpful. This book is filled with time old tricks and ways to alter patterns to get the most from them.
